Honest about the limits: the harness gives a mechanical advantage from the very first walk, but it does not fully replace training. 1. Adjust four points

Set the chest and back separately. Two fingers should fit under each strap - then it sits securely without chafing.

2. Attach the lead at the front

Clip the carabiner into the chest attachment and keep the lead shorter for the first few outings. It is the attachment that does the work.

3. Reward the slack lead

Keep walking as long as the lead hangs slack. When the dog walks calmly you can move over to the back attachment.

How quickly will I notice a difference?
Most people notice it on the first walk, because the effect is mechanical and does not require the dog to have learnt anything new. Some dogs need a few outings before they stop testing forward. Keep the lead short at first and reward every time it hangs slack.

Which size should I choose?
Measure the chest girth just behind the front legs and weigh your dog, then compare with the size guide at the top of the page. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one, as the four adjustment points take up the slack.

Does it chafe in the armpits?
The Y-shape is made to leave the armpits free and the upper is breathable mesh. Chafing nearly always comes from the wrong setting, not the wrong size. Check that you can fit two fingers under each strap and that the chest strap sits over the breastbone, not up against the neck.

Does it work on all dogs?
